Salonkee Content Moderation and Prevention of Illegal Content Policy

Scope and Objective

Salonkee ("we", "our", or "the platform") connects hair salons and other beauty professionals ("professionals") with customers ("clients") through our online platform.

As an intermediary, we are responsible for ensuring that the platform complies with applicable laws, including the European Digital Services Act ("DSA").

This content moderation and illegal content prevention policy (the "policy") outlines the prohibited activities and moderation procedures on our platform.

All terms used in this policy are either defined here or in the Salonkee Terms of Use, of which this policy is a part. Capitalized terms not defined in this policy have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Service.

We may update this policy from time to time and notify you of such updates via in-app notifications, the website, or email if you have subscribed to receive updates via email.

Content Reporting and Removal Procedures

In accordance with the EU Digital Services Act, Salonkee provides users with a mechanism to report any illegal or harmful content, including but not limited to, the prohibited activities mentioned above:

Users can report illegal or unlawful content using the designated reporting function on the platform. All reports must include:

Reports are promptly reviewed by our specialized team. In accordance with Article 17 of the DSA, we adhere to the following timelines:

Notification and Appeals:

Users whose content has been removed will receive a notification with an explanation. They have the right to appeal the decision through the platform's appeal procedure, which will be reviewed by an independent moderator within 14 days.

Transparency Reports

In accordance with Article 15 of the DSA, Salonkee will publish an annual transparency report detailing our content moderation activities, including types of illegal content removed, appeals, content reinstatements, and any cooperation with law enforcement or other authorities.

Data and Intellectual Property

User Responsibility: Users (professionals and clients) must ensure that any data or content shared via the platform complies with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and does not infringe on intellectual property rights.

Confidentiality: Professionals must protect the confidentiality of their clients' data.

Responsibilities of Service Providers

Although Salonkee acts as an intermediary, beauty professionals are considered service providers and must comply with their legal obligations, including GDPR and DSA requirements.

Salonkee will cooperate with authorities and may suspend accounts or services in case of non-compliance.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in the following actions, including but not limited to:

Salonkee reserves the right to update this policy in accordance with legal requirements, including changes imposed by the EU Digital Services Act.
